02/19/2016 Nazanin Omidi wins 4th place in the MAS conference poster competition.

Nazanin Omidi was the fourth place winner in the Mississippi Academy of Sciences poster competition.  Nazanin also participated in the Mississippi IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) symposium.  Participation in the competition was by invitation.

02/05/2016 Nazanin Omidi selected to participate in the Mississippi INBRE symposium at the upcoming MAS conference.

Nazanin Omidi was selected as one of 50 students to participate in the Mississippi Idea Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) Symposium at the Mississippi Academy of Sciences (MAS) annual meeting to be held from February 18 - 19 2016 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  The students will compete for top presentation prizes in the symposium.

Two of the other students in the group, Sunethra Dayavansha and Ukesh Koju will also be giving talks at the meeting.

01/26/2015 Upcoming: MAS meeting

The Mississippi Academy of Sciences (MAS) annual meeting will be held from February 18 - 19 2016 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Three of our graduate students, Sunethra Dayavansha, Ukesh Koju and Nazanin Omidi, will be giving talks.

Last year the meeting was derailed by bad weather and although all three of these students were supposed to give talks, only Nazanin and Ukesh were able to participate.

Four new graduate students joined the group during fall semester. They are Somayeh Taghizedeh, Kevin Lin, Bobby Lirette and John Rock.  Somayeh and Kevin are pursuing master's degrees while Bobby and John are pursuing doctoral degrees.

12/08/2015 NCPA Christmas luncheon

Members of the Ultrasonics group participated in the Christmas luncheon at the National Center for Physical Acoustics where the Ultrasonics laboratories are housed.  The luncheon is an annual end of year Christmas celebration held in the NCPA hall.
